Party Days!!!

It took me a lot of time to make an entry here, as usually. Anyway there is no point in posting everyday, not many important things happen in my life . It has been 3 Fridays at Isa’s home with Erika, we have had a great time all of them. We have always drunk something, the second time I tried for the first time “tequila”, and I liked it. This Friday we met again and she cooked “ajiaco” for us and it was excellent, we had a great time.

Finally I took some time for my homework, and I did a lot of it, I am proud. I still have some things to do but they can wait.

Yesterday part of “The Seven” (As we are called now) met at Roque’s house, we had a great time drinking Tequila and Aguardiente. Something that should happen actually happened, but I won’t say anything about it. We drunk a lot and I feel normal today, great!

On Friday I also went to a Microsoft conference at my University, they presented Windows Vista, and it is amazing. I won a book in there, and I am downloading WV RC1 right now. I hope it solves my problems, because I have got a virus, I hate it.

Firefox 2 Release

Finally Firefox 2.0 was officially released on October the 24th, I’m really exited about it. I’ve used the Release candidates some time before this, so I was used to Firefox, and the final version is exactly the same as RC3, so there’s no change. I love all of it’s features, and I know most people will love them too, it’s great. IE is way behind again, they’ll have to do something much better than IE7 to pass over FF.

Taking it back . . .

Ok, It has been too long since my last post, and I feel I owe you some news. First of all I’ve got rid of Linux a lot of time ago, I liked it (As I stated in my last posts) but I had some minor problems that were driving me crazy as don’t being able to see videos from YouTube, not being able to use rar files, and a lot of small things that got me out of it. Anyway, I went back to Windows and here I am

University has gone pretty well lately, but there was something got me scared a lot. Las Tuesday I was at the University with some friends finishing a French work before class, and something really bad happened, students started to fight against the police. To be honest, it happens a lot at my University, but I had never seen something like that, there were a lot of potato’s bombs (Papa Bombas like we call them here, they’re made by rebel students at the University in the Labs) and a lot of panic. People were running all over and security was taking us out of the University, I was really scared

But let’s talk about something different. I got wet a day (I do not remember what day) and I’ve had a lot of work, and I had some parties with my friends these weekends, and I got some good movies on DVD (The Sin Eater, She’s The Man, Click and Silent Hill). Eva Uni

Well, it has been 4 days since my last post here, when I installed Ubuntu (Linux) and I’m still using it, I fall in love with it even more everyday. I’ve learned how to do a lot of things, but there are still some others that I don’t know how to do. I was using Gaim as my instant messaging system, but it was too basic so I looked up for another one and I found Amsn, it’s a pretty good imitation of the MSN, and it even support the camera!!! That’s what I needed

Taking about my personal life, I’ve been kind of busy at the University, it’s the second week and I have a lot of work to do, for almost all the courses, but anyway I’m happy. Yesterday was a specially difficult day at the University, I stayed there the whole day (So I couldn’t use internet at all) in courses, I had a lot of things to do and my bag was pretty heavy!!! I got me very tired At night, when I was ready to go home, it started to rain, and it was pretty hard, kind of a storm, I hate when it rains!!! had to wait almost 2 hours, and then I decided to go in metro and then take a taxi to my home, but anyway I got all wet, and that’s something i really hate

Some good news, Evanescence has released a new community board for all the Fans, Amy was tired of EvBoard polices and how it became a board only for paid subscribers, so she made another board and it’s now the official one, it’s called EvThreads , it’s pretty good, it’s amazing, and Amy posted there! so, let’s see how it goes, I was really tired of EvBoard, but know I love EvThreads

Linux

OK, Today has been such as hell with my PC. Yesterday I had nothing to do, and I really wanted to use Ubuntu (Linux) just because pleasure, so I made a buck up of my most important things and tried to install it. It was supposed that I could change the actual partition’s size to use some of it’s free space for Linux, so I resized it, but I made a mistake and gave the actual Windows partition only 16Gb, and I need much more than that, so I canceled it, but it was too late, it had already changed it. I went to Windows to see if it still worked and it did, but the Hard disk was only 16Gb and I could not recover the lost pace (24Gb)

I got very angry and I decided that I didn’t wanted Windows anymore, so I formated the whole Hard Disk and installed Ubuntu But an old problem I’ve always had with Linux happened, the screen resolution, it was 640×480 and I couldn’t change it because there were some lines missing in some configuration file (My graphic card doesn’t configure itself automatically) so I decided to ask for help at Ubuntu’s IRC channel. Somebody told me what to do, but guess what . . . I screwed everything and my PC went down, then it could not even start

I tried a lot of things before formatting again, but it was 2:00 am so I decided to turn it off and go to sleep. Today I woke up and immediately started trying to fix it. Finally I had to format it and install Ubuntu again, but them somebody gave an easier solution to my resolution problem and it got all fixed, then I just had to install some packages I needed (such as XChat, MP3 format, etc) and download some other things (Such as Firefox 2.0, VBA, etc), and it finally worked great!!!

Changing topic (I know it was kind of long ), today I went with Maggy to Roque’s house. We saw a movie and had some great time together. I saw Neron, Roque’s dog, it has been growing a lot lately and it’s pretty big now, even if it’s still a puppy, I love it.

Freaky days

Well, talking about studies, I had my first Epistemology class on Thursday, and as I thought it would be (Not that I expected it) my teacher was the same as the last semester, I hate him! He’s kind of slow, he’s very intelligent, but he speaks so low so everybody gets sleep with that “interesting” topic and that voice. He also gives out a lot of work, a lot of reading and it bothers me, in the first class he gave us a document of 25 pages to read for next class, I will sleep good tonight

Also today one of my friends that I don’t see long time ago is coming, and we’re getting out with another of my best friends, Maggy. I hope we do something interesting because the main aim of this is to use for first time Maggy’s “Partial ID” so we can have some beers without police giving us problems

I’ve finally started playing The Sims 2, I had it installed long time ago, and people come to my house to play it, but I didn’t feel like playing it, now I’ve started a new family and I have a little son called “Buvitu”, it really makes me laugh

Well, And now the most important thing (Best things at the end), Finally Evanescence’s new album The Open Door is out!!! But I can’t get it until October the 14th because here in Colombia they’re very slow getting new albums, anyway I’ll get it as soon as possible (ASAP).

ZetaBeta

Well, there are not much things to say right now, anyway, here I go.

On InvisionFree they announced recently the first beta of Zetaboards, something that I’ve been waiting for a long time. A few selected people have granted access to the test board (Who everybody thinks is in server 5 because it private ) . Anyway, the next stage of the beta testing will be public, so all IF users can test the new software. according Brandon’s announcement, it should start soon

Changing topic, I’ve just started University on Monday, the 3rd semester, at leats some subjects, because other ones are from 2nd semester, anyway I’m very happy, I’m kind of tired because I was kind of lazy on vacations with almost no activities, and now I’m all the time at the University in classes and carrying that heavy bag, but I love it
